Are you looking to start the New Year with powerful intentions and a meditation practice? We are thrilled to offer this unique opportunity to explore the depth, freedom and bliss of meditation in a series of four workshops with Terrence Monte. Designed to support your ongoing personal practice, you will experience a deep sense of inner peace and resilience during your meditation and all year long! 

Terrence’s work focuses on presenting the magical and mystical in a simple, approachable, and functional manner for day-to-day life. This series will start with the fundamentals of mediation and then continue to #GoDeeper each week, leaving you feeling connected, focused and present during mediation and in life. Each week, Terrence will explore different styles and aspects of meditation, offering time for Q & A, discussion, & journaling. Come to one, two, three, or all four for an ultimate meditation experience.

Session 1: Meditation 101-The FUN-damentals

(session 1 is a prerequisite for attending session 2, 3, & 4)

Saturday January 20th

The first workshop dives deep into the fundamentals of meditation, laying the foundation for an ongoing personal meditation practice. This class will support the subsequent workshops. During this workshop, you will learn three different styles of meditation designed to reduce stress and anxiety, and promote wellness. Each meditation will be followed with a two minute journaling experience, followed by a Q & A session. You will walk away with the tools to start or enrich a mediation practice for the New Year. Please bring a notebook or journal to class.

Session 2: Meditation 102-The Chakras

Saturday January 27th

Explore the chakra system and deepen your awareness of your primary energy centers. During this workshop, you will learn two new chakra mediations based on the incredible work of Carolyn Myss. You will leave with the skills and resources to practice these meditations on your own. Please bring a notebook or journal to class.

Session 3: Mediation 103-Yoga Nidra

Saturday February 3rd

Have you always been curious about Yoga Nidra aka yogic or psychic sleep? This meditation workshop will take you deep into the world of Yoga Nidra by guiding you through a specific sequence of steps to induce a very deep state of relaxation. This is a stand alone practice that can be done in about 25 minutes to an hour, depending on time.  It is often stated that 1 hour of Nidra is worth 3 hours of actual sleep. Please bring a notebook or journal to class.

Session 4: Meditation 104-the Spiritual Pivot

Saturday February 10th

This final workshop will focus on guided meditation as a vehicle for increasing compassion. The Spiritual Pivot refers to the Heart Chakra upon which the energies of Human and Heaven converge.  This workshop explores a step-by-step practice that increases our capacity for understanding, tolerance, and empathy.  You will leave with a renewed relationship with your self- one of love and a deep sense of connection with your soul.

More about Terrence:

Originally trained as a mechanical engineer, Terrence received his B.S. from Lafayette College and an MFA from the University of Iowa.  Although seemingly opposite modalities of study, they are, in fact, both designed to teach how things function.  It is precisely this interest that propelled Terrence down the yogic path.

Since 2006, Terrence has managed two different yoga studios in New York, completed 10 different teacher trainings in areas varying from Forrest Yoga to MeditationTraining, and has led international retreats.  He has taught yoga and meditation for the last 14 years and hopes to continue teaching until he physically cannot.  He was previously the Area Managing Teacher of Pure Yoga before he decided to pursue a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
