This important work is brought to the studio and this campaign is brought to our community by LYB Teachers David Marshall, Penny Gorman, April Evans, Carla Tanz & Cindy Leiva
Did you know that annually, more than 3 million people experience a TBI in the US and Canada? TBI (including concussion) can lead to ‘whole person challenges’, causing physical, emotional, and cognitive impairments. And, the often-invisible nature of the injury means many people may appear healed, but are in fact dealing with ongoing challenges of their injury. This can lead to isolation and depression. That’s where LoveYourBrain Yoga program comes in!
We are one of the select yoga studios across the country to offer the LoveYourBrain Yoga program a free research-backed yoga program for people affected by traumatic brain injury (TBI).
LoveYourBrain believes that yoga, mindfulness and community are essential to transforming the wellbeing of people impacted by TBI. We do, too! We’re proud to offer LoveYourBrain’s evidence-based yoga classes to people TBI and their caregivers in New York City.
This month we’re fundraising to support LoveYourBrain’s important work, and we’d love you to join the campaign!

Many of us fall in love with yoga through the physical practice of asana after noticing the improvement of our body’s flexibility, strength, and balance. You may have noticed that those same qualities start to develop in your mind as well – you are able to be less rigid in your thinking, achieve greater focus, and have a balanced attitude in your life. Meditation is simply yoga for your mental body. It can help us recognize and untangle the knots of thinking that may be preventing us from seeing clearly.
Join April in this workshop to learn:
-Basic meditation techniques
-Essentials of yoga philosophy
-Elemental science of meditation and the brain
-Tools for bringing more mindfulness into daily life
