Five Pillars Yoga

Jeffrey Villanueva

Where are you from?
Born the in Philippines, grew up in Baltimore, MD.

How did you come to Yoga? How and when did your yoga practice begin?
I began my practice in 2007, completely by accident, and have never looked back.

Who inspires you?
My parents, students who are willing and brave to explore and learn, and my teachers (Guy Donahaye, Sangeeta Vallabhan, Sharon Gannon andDavid life).

How would you describe your teaching style?

I teach in a style that is dynamic and high-intensity, that physically challenges you in a way that cultivates your fullest single pointed attention, which meanwhile asks you to approach your practice from a very loving place within. In this way, we learn how to use the physical practice to nurture the self, and create synergy between the body, mind and soul.

Which posture helps you Go Deep?
When done intelligently, every posture can help you go deep.

Silence or music in class?
Both are great, depends on the mood

Personal motto or mantra?
Know the body, know the universe
