Five Pillars Yoga

Olga Palladino

Where are you from?
Pelham, NY. I’ve been living in the city for 20 years now.

How did you come to Yoga? How and when did your yoga practice begin?
My practice began in 2002. I had been in a very dark period in my early twenties, where I really needed to change everything. I had heard about Yoga through friends and I wanted to start getting into my body in a more healthy way. I wanted to get “healthier” from the inside out, and so I began my journey on the mat.

Who inspires you?
My family, and specifically my boys Luca and Leo. I’m also inspired by those who give of themselves for the benefit of others.

How would you describe your teaching style?
I would say I teach a strong Vinyasa class with plenty of love

Which posture helps you Go Deep?
I think every pose presents an opportunity for us to go deeper.

Silence or music in class?
I love both but I play music in my class. I play anything from Led Zeppelin to Manorma to Sia.

Personal Motto or Mantra?
Love and Service

Current favorite inspirational quote?
I have two: “Be Truthful, Gentle and Fearless.” And, “Your best teacher is your last mistake.”
